This Alone standing, spacious three bedroom house is the ideal home away from home for the whole family, the weary traveler and even the bussiness traveler. Your Hosts Rika and Andre' will ensure your most meberable stay ever in Bedford.

History

André and Rika moved from Parys Freestate to Bedford in 2005 and immediately fell in love with this beautiful jewel of the Eastern Cape lying at the foot of the Kaga Mountain. This property was bought by them in 2007 in a very bad condition, for a steal. It was purchased from the estate of an old lady. The house was built in the late 1890’s in an old colonial style (Commoners House) and was occupied mostly by the middle class working group. While renovating and modernizing the house they never thought of opening a guesthouse, but loved the place more as building progressed and decided to keep it.  As it was too small for the family to stay in, this was the next best option.

Example content imageBedford: Cradled at the foot of the Kaga mountain, this charming Settler village is fondly regarded as the ‘jewel’ of the Eastern Cape. Lying on the fringes of the Karoo Heartland and Frontier Country, Bedford is just a 2-hour drive from Port Elizabeth, East London and Graaf-Reinet and a mere 50 minutes from Grahamstown.

We hope that you will enjoy your stay and make yourselves comfortable in our little house.
